2020 was a life altering year for all of us. But for me, it wasn't just the year of the pandemic. That was also the year my daughter was born and the year everything felt like it came crashing down. Little did I know, there was a name for what I was feeling. Post Partum Depression. I needed an outlet to help me get out of the darkness and sharing my story just felt like the right thing to do.
I never thought that I would gain such a big following. Hitting 50 streams in under a week seemed like a miracle so when the numbers began to grow and people began to tune in weekly, I could not stop what I had started. Giving so many people a safe space to tell their story has been a beautiful experience. Men, women, younger, older, all different backgrounds... everyone has a voice and every time a new person spoke, the community became stronger.
I want to continue providing a safe space. We all have a story to tell and when we tell our stories we see that the things that made us feel alone, can not take control of us. There is and always will be someone who will understand. Mental health awareness in men and women is extremely important and I love that we are able to speak on it so freely nowadays. This community has allowed people to be real and raw about their life experiences and I hope we can keep that going.
We met when I was 13 and I knew he was the one. A few years later we said our i-do's and I thought I was set for life. Unfortunately, not everything is the way it seems and we grew apart. Now we're going our separate ways and a new chapter in my life is beginning.
Born in Mexico and in the states since I was one. My culture is very important to me but I think the most impactful part about it is the focus on family. I come from a family of 6 and they have always been a big part of my life. Since then I have been blessed with 2 kiddos of my own who are now the light of my life. Everything I do, I do to give them a better life.
After taking an anatomy class, I realized that a career in the health field wasn't actually for me and gave up my dream of studying kinesiology. I decided to take a road I never thought I would and went into teaching. It was the best decision of my life. Molding little humans into the future leaders of the world has brought me so much joy, even with all the behind the scenes drama.
